For our dissection, we were given the opportunity to dissect either a fetal pig, a cat, or a shark. I decided on the pig, since it's anatomy is the closest to human anatomy out of the three choices. My partner Bekah and I learned about the digestive, urogenital, reproductive, circulatory, and respiratory systems. Since our specimen was so similar to what a human would look like, we were also able to learn about human anatomy as well, as we were able to determine based on the arrangement of organs present in the pig where the appendix would be in a human.
